Around Geelong, we live in such a beautiful and vibrant landscape, encapsulating all terrains and environments. From beaches to forests, hills to open plains, there is nothing more the adventurous could want that Geelong cannot deliver, that’s why us at SportsPower Geelong are providing you with our ‘Walk Around Geelong’ series, to encourage everyone of all ages and abilities, to keep fit and healthy amid a Covid world.
This week, we take a look at the Geelong Botanical Gardens.
Located in East Geelong, the Botanical Gardens provides a sense of refreshment and rejuvenation to all walkers and runners, with the towering trees and beautiful range of flora making us feel as though we are well and truly in the ‘great outdoors’.
The 2.97km walk is regarded as ‘very easy’ by Walkingmaps.com.au, taking an estimated 44 minutes to complete the circuit. Along the way, you will run into some of the most beautiful trees that Victoria has to offer, thirty- six of which are listened on the Natural Trust of Australia (Victoria) Register of Significant Trees (Walkingmaps.com.au).
Walking passed young cricketers loving the game, children playing in the local playgrounds and even golfers trying to reduce their handicap at the East Geelong Golf Club, the Geelong Botanical Gardens walk will allow you to reconnect with nature and allow you to destress after a long day at the office.
